Jesus is the creator of the angels, and gave them freewill just as He did us. Angels are frequently seen in the Bible. 34 of 66 books of the Bible mention angels. There are 270 verses that deal with angels in the Old and New Testaments. Angels were very prominent in the life of Jesus. Angels announced to Mary about the coming virgin birth. They came to the shepherds in the fields to announce where the Christ child had been born. Angels warned Joseph and Mary to leave Bethlehem because their child was in danger. Angels were with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane when His strength was ebbing and He needed their powerful touch. Angels were present to minister to Jesus in the wilderness when His fast concluded and He was without food. They were present at the empty tomb to declare that He is not there, that He has risen. They are present when He ascended from the Mount of Olives. Angels announced that He shall come again in like manner as they saw Him go. An angel will declare with the trumpet the second coming of Christ.
